If human red blood cells are placed in a 0 osmoles/L solution, a 100 osmoles/L solution, a 300 osmoles/L solution, and a 500 osmoles/L solution, then _________________ will be the isotonic solution.

OPTIONS:
0 osmoles/L solution
100 osmole/L solution
300 osmoles/L solution
500 osmoles/L solution

Answers

If human red blood cells are placed in solutions of different osmolarity, then the 300 osmoles/L solution will be the isotonic solution.

An isotonic solution to the red blood cell would be a solution that has the same solute concentration as the red blood cell.

Isotonic solutions are different from hypotonic and hypertonic solutions. Hypotonic solutions would have lower solute concentrations than the red blood cell while hypertonic solutions would have higher concentrations than the red blood cells.

The red blood cells of humans have a certain amount of solute in their cell sap which has been approximate to be between 286 and 295 osmoles/L. Thus, the only solution close to being an isotonic solution to these cells would be the 300 osmoles/L solution.

More about osmolarity can be found here: https://brainly.com/question/8144230

Answer: 300 osmoles/ L solution

Explanation:

The 300 osmoles/ L solution is the solution closest to the osmolarity of a normal human red blood cell.

This means that the 300 osmoles/ L solution is the isotonic solution. If added to human red blood cells, the shape and size of the red blood cells with remain as they were, unchanged (unlike if a hypotonic/ hypertonic solution was added.)

Answer:

Plants use energy in multiple ways. One way they use energy is to move. Many don't realize that plants move because their exact position does not change. However, plants do shift in order to face the sun and get more light. Additionally, plants grow. For plants to get taller and larger they need to use energy.

They use a process call photosynthesis to make food. During the process the plants trap light energy with their leaves. They use the sun and carbon dioxide with Turns into sugar with creates glucose.

What is electronic configuration of carbon?

Carbon atomic number is 6. Its electronic configuration is 1s2 2s2 2p2. As you can see from the electronic configuration the inner shell has 2 electrons and the outer shell with principal quantum number 2 has 4 electrons.

An atom is made up of electrons, protons and neutrons. Both protons and neutrons are located in the nucleus of the atom, while electrons are in the shell/s. The shell of an atom is the orbit on which the electrons revolve around the nucleus. The number of shells in an atom extends from the first, n =1, to infinity, n = ∞, depending on the number of electrons in the given atom.

The first shell, n =1, is the ground state and can only contain a maximum of 2 electrons. The inner shell contains two electrons and the outer shell contains four electrons.

Therefore, Atoms with a full valence shell are non reactive. Most shells have room for 8 electrons, so these atoms described are most likely noble gases. The answer is more or less nothing.

What are proteins?

The protein molecules that the genes in DNA encode are the "workhorses" of the cell, performing all the tasks required for life. Proteins include, for instance, DNA polymerases and other enzymes that produce copies of DNA during cell division, as well as enzymes that metabolize nutrients and synthesize new cellular components.

The simplest definition of gene expression is the production of the gene's corresponding protein, and this complex procedure involves two main phases.

Transcription is the process by which the data in DNA is converted into a messenger RNA (mRNA) molecule in the initial phase. A pre-mRNA molecule is formed during transcription by an enzyme called RNA polymerase II using the DNA of a gene as a template for complementary base-pairing.

Therefore, In order for a cell to manufacture these proteins, specific genes within its DNA must first be transcribed into molecules of mRNA; then, these transcripts must be translated into chains of amino acids, which later fold into fully functional proteins.

Essay 1 )

In many people's opinions mans impact on the environment is a big issue in our life which is easily neglected, as humans are responsible for a staggering amount of damage on the earth. Nature manages its own components.

Since the outbreak of technology and industrialisation humans have greatly had a negative impact on the environment, such as; air pollution, habitat destruction, water pollution, the burning of rainforests and land pollution. In this essay I intend to give facts and discuss the effects and causes on these topics and discuss the solutions being carried out to improve the conditions.

Air pollution effects people in areas of emission sources, such as, power plants, local industry and major roads. Humans contribute to pollution by the use of machinery in industry causing pollution to the environment. More effects of air pollution on the environment involve using diesel fuel for vehicles and coal for power along with the lack of emission controls for vehicles and industry.

Another cause of air pollution is the greenhouse gas CO2, this gas warms the earth through living things as they emit CO2 when breathing which contributes to humans also, as we add to this statistic through breathing also. CO2 is usually thought to be involved with cars, aeroplanes and power plants, in the past 150 years , CO2 has been polluting our atmosphere through the sources mentioned, this is the highest CO2 emissions recorded for a long time. More causes of air pollution is methane gas which comes from swamps which are contributed to man through flooding. Cfc's are another major cause of air pollution by man through the use of fridges and deodorants (aerosols) which harms the earth's ozone layer.

Essay 2 )

In order to meet the basic needs of increases population, the present society has under taken a series of steps like rapid industrialization, unplanned urbanisation, deforestation, overexploitation of natural sources, etc.The outcomes of the above human activities have contributed significantly to the degradation of environment around us.

Some important impacts of human activities on environment are outlined below:

1. Deforestation:

In order to provide timber and farm land to increased population, large number of forest trees are cut and forest area is converting to farm lands. The rate of deforestation is so faster that around 1.5 million hectare of forest cover is lost every year is India alone. The process of deforestation results in decreasing rainfall, increasing global temperature, loss of top soil, modification of climatic conditions etc.

2. Industrialization:

Although the industrial activities of man provide basic need of the society, simultaneously the same release a lot of pollutants to the environment. The pollutants in environment cause loss of raw materials, health hazards, increase in death rate, damage to crop, making environment unfit for living organisms etc.

3. Loss of ecological balance:

The excessive use, misuse and mis-management of biosphere resources results in disturbance in ecosystem or ecological imbalance.

4. Air pollution:

The anthropogenic release of various air pollutants to the environment causes a number of dreaded phenomena like green house effect, ozone layer depletion, acid rain and smog formation etc.

5. Water pollution:

Human activities in respect of disposal of sewage wastes, solid wastes, municipal wastes, agricultural and industrial wastes cause the environment unfit for day to day use. Besides, polluted water spreads or leads to different diseases.

6. Increased consumption of natural resources:

Since the starting of industrial era, the natural resources are constantly utilised for the production of one or more products for the day to day use of society.

7. Production of waste:

Rapid industrialization and unplanned urbanization release a lot of toxic waste material either in solid or liquid or gaseous state which induces a number of serious environmental hazards.

8. Extinction of Wildlife:

Since forests are natural habitats of wild life (both plants and animals) deforestation leads to the extinction of valuable wild life and loss of biodiversity.

9. Habitual destruction:

The commercial and industrial activities associated with mining, construction of dams, fishing, agriculture etc. cause habitat destruction which is a pathway to pollution.

10. Noise pollution:

The man-made noise due to mechanized automobile, industries, trains, aero planes, social functions etc. causes noise pollution which has impact on both biotic and a biotic components of environment.

These are the human impacts on environment

Read the passage.EarthshipsWhat is an earthship? An earthship is a home designed to make use of recycled materials and increase energy conservation. Ideally, by living in an earthship, a person can have a home that is off the grid. People who live in earthships do not depend on outside sources for electricity, food, or water. Building an earthship may be an attractive choice for those who want to use fewer of our planets non-renewable resources. The FoundationFirst, the foundation is built by firmly packing dirt inside recycled tires. Then, the tires are placed in a pyramid-like stack going as high as needed. Next, cement is spread and smoothed between the tires to create a solid wall. When this is finished, the walls are sealed with a protective coating and painted. Some interior walls are built using recycled cans and cement, also sealed with a protective coating.Solar EnergySolar panels give enough stored energy in batteries to provide electricity for appliances, lighting, and electronics. However, solar-powered batteries hold about one-third the charge of energy used in a regular household wired for electricity. This means that people either buy more batteries or intend to use less electricity than a conventional household. Ideally, earthships are built in places where there is an abundance of sunshine year-round.Floor-to-ceiling windows on an earthships south wall also allow plenty of sunlight. It is important that no trees block the light on this side of the house. The sunlight shines directly onto a brick floor, which then absorbs the heat. This provides enough warmth to maintain a comfortable temperature in the house for the rest of the day. This method of heating the home is called passive solar. Most earthships also have either a wood stove or a heater that uses propane, a type of natural gas. These heat sources are useful on cloudy days. During the summer, the combination of the cool temperature of the earth beneath the floor plus the thick walls can keep the house comfortable without the use of air-conditioning.Recycled WaterGutters on the roof collect rainwater that then trickles down into large storage barrels. The water is used for taking showers, doing dishes, and flushing the toilet. It is also filtered for drinking. People sometimes build a greenhouse to grow their own food. Water that has been used for dishwashing or showers can be saved if the soaps are chemical-free. This recycled gray water can be used yet again to water the plants in the greenhouse.Potential ProblemsEarthships have been around since the 1970s. Now, long-term studies have revealed some problems. For one, without sufficient sunlight during the winter, large amounts of natural gas known as propane and/or wood are used to heat the home. Propane use can be costly, and unless one has planned far ahead, a wood supply can be quickly depleted.Another problem is that tires used in the foundation walls can, after a long period of time, begin to crack, releasing a toxic gas that has built up over time in the walls. The use of cement, which is a porous material with many small holes and spaces, allows the gases to leak into the air. The type of gas emitted is not detectable by smell but can make people sick. To address this problem, the walls of the home needs to be resealed every year.Cost can also be a significant challenge. Some earthship building companies claim that it is far cheaper to build an earthship because only recycled materials are used. Also, a contractors license or training is not needed to build one. This, though, is true if it is built 100% by the owner, which could take years to complete. Additionally, the cement, plumbing, and electrical components, as well as the cost of installing solar panels, can be expensive. Just as with the construction of a conventional home, proper permits are often needed to build an earthship. There are clear advantages and disadvantages to these unique homes. As technology improves and new solutions are discovered, earthships may continue to be a wise way to live sustainably using minimal resources. In the article, "Earthships," what does passive solar mean?a clean-burning natural gasa type of pollution resulting from cracking tiresthe use of the sun's energy for either heating or coolinga type of fossil fuel used for electricityplease help PLZ HURRY IT'S URGENT!!!What is the measure of < C?options:306090180 Helppppppppppppppp please and explain! transform the equation formulated into standard form ax+bx+c=0 How does the allusion to William Shakespeare affect the meaning of the text?It shows that Angelou identifies with the feelings expressed in Shakespeare's poem.It reveals how much Angelou admires those who are not like herself. It foreshadows Angelou's future career as a writer. It suggests Angelou's desire to leave her surroundings and go elsewhere.
