Answer:

Well, for a start, look at old english writings from back in the days. Like plenty quotes from famous people like, say, george washington. It takes reading it one or two times to understand it because its written in the old language. Looking at our laguage today, we completely understand it. Right? Beleive it or not, in the future, people may look at our stuff and not even be able to understand it. Secondly but certainly not lastly, think about how many goofy words people have started online such as "yeet" or "oof". In the future, there will probably be more words like that. One last thing, have you know how your parents or grandparents sometimes say some old saying that you dont understand? Such as "happy as a lark" (i got that from my mom lol. and I looked at her like she was crazy XD). You also know how we have commonly used sayings today? thats something else that will definitely change. I hope this helped :)

Explanation:

Answer:

B. Referring to her book, Truth and Justice, Donna Atwood said,  "Writing is a journey."

Explanation:

If you are including a text from something, there must be a comma before the quotation mark. There should be a period at the end of the sentence after completing the text that you want to capture and then the quotation mark should come afterward. A sentence should always start with an upper case letter, whether or not quoting something. The first letter of every word following the beginning word of a sentence should stay lower case unless it's a name like a book or an author. Including commas between the title of the book is neccessary because it answers the readers' question of what specific book the beginning of the sentence is talking about. Capitalizing the D in Donna and A in Atwood is needed because it gives correct credit and respective importance to the name of the author who wrote the book. The word "and" in the title of the book does not require the capitalization of the first letter because it is only a FANBOY (coordinating subjunction) that strings the title together.

I hope this helps in any shape or form.

Read the text below.
Even though he wasn't a good swimmer, Brent always wanted to go snorkeling. Now that he was
vacationing in Hawaii, it was the perfect opportunity to see astounding sea life. After renting his snorkel
mask and fins, he set out with his family to find the perfect beach and snorkeling spot. He had dreamt of
snorkeling since he was a young child and heard the story of Gene the Goldfish. Finally, after driving
around the island for an hour, they found what they were told was the ideal place to see incredible sea life.
Brent quickly unpacked his gear and started off for the sparkling blue-green ocear! He felt
exhilarated when his toes hit the refreshingly cool water. Anxiousness and excitement filled his body as he
realized he was finally getting to swim with the fish. As he paddled around the bay, Brent observed
rainbow-colored fish and schools of spiny creatures swirling about. He was having the time of his life.
Just as he was about to head back to the beach, he noticed a huge green blob paddling toward him.
Astonished, he turned to his right and saw that a gigantic sea turtle was quickly paddling his way. Upon
first impression, Brent was thrilled for such an opportunity to see an endangered species; however, he
soon noticed that the turtle's large prehistoric mouth was gaping open. After taking one quick last glance at
the magnificent creature, he quickly swam toward the beach. Sitting on the warm, soft sand, Brent
reflected on his first memorable snorkeling experience.
Which sentence should be removed because it disrupts the overall sequence of actions?
A.
As he paddled around the bay, Brent observed rainbow-colored fish and schools of spiny
creatures swirling about.
B.
After renting his snorkel mask and fins, he set out with his family to find the perfect beach and
snorkeling spot.
C.
He had dreamt of snorkeling since he was a young child and heard the story of Gene the
Goldfish.

Answers

Answer:

C. He had dreamt... and geard the story of Gene the Goldfish.

Explanation:

I read the story and, honest to goodness, this line was a little bit odd in its placement in the narrative. Sure, Brent may have had the experience as a young boy but it is very out of place and throws off the flow of the story. The author could have left this part out and the story would have flowed well and wouldn't lose much without it.

a speech on Roald Dahl that's all the information we got. the speech should abide all elements of speech ;intro etc. Can be 1 and half page long. Please help out Thank you

Answers

Answer:

good afternoon everyone,

this year for my speech I have chosen the greatest writer of all time Roald Dahl.

Roald Dahl was born in Llandaff, Whales on September 13 1916. His parents were Norwegian and he was the only son of a second marriage. His father, Harold and older sister Astri died when he was only three. Roald and his sisters always begged for their mother to tell them stories. Even at a very young age, Roald fell in love with story writing and story telling.

Roald was married twice. He first married a Broadway and Hollywood actress in 1953, Named Patricia Neal whom he had five children with- Olivia, Theo, Tessa, Ophelia, and Lucy. Olivia sadly died at the age of seven from Measles and Theo suffered from brain damage. All in all Roald loved all of his children. He then married a woman named Felicity Crosland in 1983. Although they lived On the same street, Roald and Felicity never met until 1972.

One of the reasons Roald wrote for children is because when he told stories to his own children, their faces glowed.

From the age of 7, Roald attended Llandaff Cathedral School. He was 9 when he attended St. Peter’s Boarding School. At St. Peter’s, Roald got into the habit of writing to his mother once a week. He continued to do so until her death 32 years later. When his own children went to boarding School, Roald wrote to them twice every week to brighten up their days.

At the age of 23 a war broke out and Roald signed up with the Royal Air Force. He was trained on the Birdplane Gladiator fighters, mainly in Iraq. He then flew to join his squadron in the Western Desert of Libya, but crashed en-route. In 1942 he was sent to Washington with the air force. It was there that he met Eleanor Roosevelt who was an important writer and would set him on the path to a new career.

Roald’s career as a children’s author did not begin until the 1960’s. Roald Dahl’s first book for children was not, as many believe James and the Giant Peach, but a picture book called the Gremlins. Walt Disney invited Roald- now 25 to Hollywood where they wanted the Gremlins to be made into a movie. In the end, the movie idea was cancelled, but Roald’s book got published. His first newspaper article was called A Piece of Cake, which he wrote for the Post. He went on writing a total of sixteen stories for the Post.

Roald Dahl is not only a writer for children, but also for adults. For the first fifteen years of his writing career, he concentrated on writing for adults. Roald was not a quick writer. It could take him six months just to finish his rough draft! Then of course there is the editing, the proof reading and the final draft. By the time the book was on the shelves, a year and a half had already passed. But as bad as that was, it could have taken Roald one month to write the first page! Roald refused to write at all- unless he had a funny, interesting plot.

Roald first became interested in writing children’s books and novels by making up bed time stories for his two daughters, Olivia and Tessa. This was how James and the Giant Peach came to be. Soon after the book became popular in both North America and the UK. His second book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also became a favorite. The book became a hit everywhere. They even got a Chinese copy made and it sold over two million copies-just in China!

In 1990 Roald was diagnosed with a very rare disease which affected his sleeping, the colour of his skin, and his brain. Sadly, on November 23, 1990 at the age of 74 Roald Dahl died.

Although Roald Dahl is not here to day, he is my favorite author and his stories will live in people’s hearts forever. THANK YOU!!!!
