Answer 1

Answer:

I might be a little extra.. but I hope this helps!

Explanation:

I was walking to my car after a long day of work, when I saw a man walking towards me. He was my favorite character from my favorite book. I couldn't believe it was him. I stopped and stared at him, and he stared back at me. We just looked at each other for a moment, until he finally spoke.

"I've been watching you," he said. I know what you're thinking, and I know what you're feeling. I know you're wondering why I'm here. But I can't tell you that. Just know that I'm here to help you. And I won't hurt you. "

Then he walked past me and into the night. I stood there for a moment, wondering what had just happened. I knew I had seen something real, but I couldn't explain it. I decided to go home and think about it.

Later that night, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it to find the man from earlier.

"I'm sorry if I scared you," he said. "I just needed to talk to you. I needed to tell you that I know what's going on. I know what's going to happen. And I'm here to help you."

Then he told me everything. He told me about the future, and about the things that were going to happen. He told me how I could prevent them, and how I could make things better.

I was skeptical at first, but he showed me things that only I could know. He showed me the future, and it was terrifying. But with his help, I knew I could make it through.

The man stayed with me for a while, and we talked about everything. He told me his name, and I told him mine. We became friends, and I knew I could trust him.

Eventually, he had to leave. But he promised he would be back, and that he would help me through everything.

And he has been true to his word. He has helped me through everything, and he is always there when I need him. He is my friend, and my protector. And I know he will never hurt me.

What Is the Flu?

Influenza, otherwise known as the flu, is an illness caused by a virus. It can cause symptoms such as a sore throat, runny nose, fever, sneezing, coughing, headaches, and weakness. The flu can be contagious, meaning it can pass from one person to another. Someone with the flu should stay home from school or work to avoid passing it on.

Why Get a Flu Shot?

It’s in your best interest to get a flu shot this year. Studies have shown that this vaccine can protect you from getting sick.

It is especially important for vulnerable populations, such as the young, pregnant women, and seniors, to get a flu shot. This can prevent complications from the flu.

How Is the Flu Shot Delivered?

The flu shot can be delivered by injection or through a nasal spray. The vaccination contains a low dose of the dead flu virus, which help the body produce antibodies that help fight the virus if it arises. Flu shots should be administered at the beginning of “Flu Season.” This starts approximately in October, although flu shots are available through at least January.

AMANDA: Why don't you like it? I think it's quite creative.

BOB: It's just squiggles and spots. I can't make any sense out of it.

AMANDA: It's abstract art, Bob. It's meant to show feelings rather than definite objects.

BOB (snorting): Well, I can't believe that anyone would enter it in the contest. I'm sure that your painting will win a prize before that one ever does.

As audio technology changes, so do the ways people listen to music. When music was mostly on vinyl albums, those large discs called records, music listening happened at home. The turntable used to play albums is not very portable. Eight-track tapes made listening to music in the car possible. Then devices got smaller, and music became even more portable. The invention of the Walkman portable cassette player meant a person could carry music everywhere. Portable CD players were also easy to carry. However, they often skipped if they were bumped. MP3 players are still relatively new and are the most portable music option of all. A person with an MP3 player can carry as much as 40 days worth of music at once and never have to worry about the music skipping.

Which sentence from the paragraph supports the idea that music became more portable as audio devices got smaller?
A.
"The invention of the Walkman portable cassette player meant a person could carry music everywhere."
B.
"When music was mostly on vinyl albums, those large discs called records, music listening happened at home."
C.
"The turntable used to play albums is not very portable."
D.
"As audio technology changes, so do the ways people listen to music."

Answers

Answer:A

Explanation:

I believe that A is the answer to this question because it is the only answer that talks about music players getting smaller and easier to take with you.

Answer: A

Explanation: This gives evidence from the text that the Walkman was small and portable. So, A is correct.

writer Ambrose Bierce made bold choices about how to structure and narrate "occurrence at owl creek bridge". Analize the way he orders events and shifts in narration. what are the effects of these choices on the overall story? cite evidence from the text to support your analysis.

answer ASAP please

Answers

Answer:

The ending of “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” has drawn many reactions from critics. Some believe the ending is contrived and more appropriate for a thriller, suspense, or mystery tale than for a literary work. Others see the ending as Bierce’s attempt to transform the traditional conventions of narration. The story of Farquhar’s execution, like a traditional story, follows a logical order: from introduction to development to the conclusion. Bierce’s “trick” is that the conclusion is not what it seems. Although the story does not end after the first section, Farquhar’s life does, extended for a few agonizing seconds as he swings from the end of the rope. By adding the third section, Bierce calls into question the essential nature of a story’s resolution. Endings, his story reveals, can often be unresolved or manipulated. They do not always have to be tidy, as they often are in more traditional prose.

The townspeople and his teachers often view Doug in light of his older brother’s actions. Is that fair? How does this affect Doug’s behavior? Have you ever been judged for something you did not do? How did it make you feel? Please respond in at least three sentences.

Answers

Answer:

No, it's not fair, everyone is different. This probably makes Doug act like his older brother since ppl view him this way. No, i have not.

Explanation:

.

This is not fair because Doug is his own person and his older brothers actions should not make Doug at fault. Doug may feel suffocated in his brothers shadows and can’t be his own self. I have an older sibling and I get judged for things she does all the time and I too feel suffocated in her shadow.

Answer:

The story begins with Laurie's mother describing her son's first day of kindergarten. This is the day that he swore off his childish corduroy overalls and began wearing grown-up blue jeans with a belt. Kindergarten changes him in other ways, as well; he becomes loud and insolent, slamming doors and talking back to his parents.

Laurie is also full of stories about Charles, the class rebel. In the first few weeks of school, Charles is rude to the teacher, hurts some of the other students, and yells so loudly that it disrupts other classes in the school. He even hits the teacher and kicks a presenter who comes in to show the students how to exercise. During those same weeks, Laurie's behavior also grows worse, mirroring Charles' problems at school. Laurie's mother takes this as a worrisome sign of Charles' influence over her sweet son. Soon Charles' influence begins to take over the whole household; whenever someone misbehaves or something goes wrong, the family refers to it as being a Charles.

Finally, Laurie's mother goes to a PTA meeting, hoping to see an exhausted, apologetic woman that she assumes will be Charles' mother. None of them, she decides, look haggard enough. Eventually, she meets Laurie's teacher and is surprised to hear that her son has had trouble adjusting to kindergarten. However, she brushes the news off as just another sign of Charles' influence. But Laurie's teacher is confused and announces that there is no Charles in kindergarten. It is implied that it was Laurie, not the fictional Charles, who caused all the trouble at school.

Charles is a short story by American author Shirley Jackson. Although she is best known for her supernatural stories, Jackson also created humorous tales that focused on realism, plausible ...
