Under the right circumstances, the lysogenic cycle changes to the lytic cycle. Explain whether the lytic cycle can change to the
lysogenic cycle. Explain your answer in 3-5 sentences. (4 points)

Answers

Answer 1

The lytic cycle can change to the lysogenic cycle in the given manner discussed  The lysogenic cycle allows a phage to reproduce without killing its host. Some phages can only use the lytic cycle, but the phage we are following, lambda ( λ), can switch between the two cycles.

The lytic cycle:

The  lytic cycle infects a bacterium, captures  the bacterium to make lots of cycles , and then kills the cell by making it explode (lyse).

The lysogenic cycle:

The cycle  infects a bacterium and inserts its DNA into the bacterial chromosome, permitting  the cycle  DNA (now called a pro phage) to be copied and passed on  with the cell's own DNA.

Can lytic become lysogenic?

During lysogeny, the pro phage will consist in the host chromosome until induction, which  in the causes excision of the viral genome from the host chromosome. After induction has resulted  the temperate phage could  proceed through a lytic cycle and then undergoes lysogeny in a newly infected cell.

How lytic cycle is different then lysogenic cycle?

The important  difference between lytic cycle and lysogenic cycle is that lytic cycle destroys the host cell on contrary lysogenic cycle doesn't destroys the host cell.  Where as Viral DNA destroys the host cell DNA and arrests  cell functions in the lytic cycle.

Are their any multicellular chemoautotrophs? If so, describe them. If not, why?

It is not possible to have a multicellular chemoautotrophs.

What are chemoautotrophs?

The term chemoautotrophs refers to those organisms that use the energy from the sun to  convert inorganic elements into compounds that are useful in the soil. There are several kinds of chemoautotrophs such as nitrosomonas and nitrobacter.

When we talk about multicellular organisms we are talking about the organisms that have more than one cell. The unicellular organisms are the organisms that have only one cell and we know that bacteria and certain kinds of fungi possesses only one cell.

Since we know that the chemoautotrophs are bacteria and bacteria are singe celled organisms, it is not possible to have a multicellular chemoautotrophs.

Energy and energy transition are depicted graphically and mathematically using energy flow diagrams, also known as energy flow charts.

Energy production used as unprocessed fuels to feed a system, supply of energy, transformation or conversion, losses, and energy in use can all fall under energy flow. The autotrophs that absorb energy from the sun are an excellent example of how energy moves through an ecosystem. The autotrophs are then consumed by herbivores, who convert the plant's energy into energy flow they can use. After that, carnivores eat the herbivores, and then other carnivores eat the carnivores is energy flow.

Answers

Injuries can cause disease in pets because when the pets get hurt, some body parts are showing up which allows germs to enter the body. As a result, the pet gets sick.

Glad to help. :)

Let's say a dog is in a race. This dog falls and gets scraped. If the injury consists of an open wound, that would leave a big opening for diseases to get in. Diseases can be harmful to the way pets function, just like us humans. If your pet is injured, do anything you can to treat it.

Our species, Homo sapiens, belongs to the genus Homo, but we are also hominins. Knowing our evolutionary history means knowing what we share with other primates as well as what has transpired in the 7–10 million years since we split from other African ape lineages. or more precisely, what transpired during the two million years of our own genus' existence. There is strong evidence that over the Pleistocene, our lineage endured substantial modifications to their bodies, behaviors, and ecologies, which led to the emergence of a human niche. If you could genetically engineer any species of organism, what would it be? Would it be a unicorn? A dog-cat hybrid? Your own personal pet giant? Choose any species—real or not—that your imagination desires!

Write a paragraph describing your species, what it looks like, and where it lives. Think of any inherited traits the species has that might help it survive in its environment. Thinking of these traits now can help you come up with allele combinations in the next step. Now describe your species in the answer space.

Answers

If we can genetically engineer any species of organism, it would be a human-fish hybrid.

A human-fish hybrid would have lungs as well as gills to breathe so that life can be also possible under water.

It would be revolutionary because humans would not be just restricted to land but also be able to explore deep seas and oceans and found new types of minerals and other hidden treasures in the deep seas and oceans.

If somehow land became unfertile or flood hits, human will still be able to cope up with that and if by some reason the land collapses or air became all polluted, we can still live underwater and make a new civilization.

This hybrid will also provide us the power of echolocation because of the sonar detection feature in most fishes.

Mr. Shepherd has gone outside to shovel snow on a cold day. How does his body maintain a relatively constant body temperature? What is this process called?

Answers

The thermoregulatory center, which is primarily responsible for controlling body temperature, is situated in the preoptic area of the hypothalamus.

Homeostasis is the term used to describe the process of maintaining a constant internal environment within an organism.

Vasodilation and vasoconstriction, which result in an increase or reduction in blood flow to the skin, are the primary thermoregulatory mechanisms.

On the skin's surface (peripheral receptors), in the pre-optic region of the anterior hypothalamus (central receptors), and in other areas of the body exist thermal sensing cells or thermal sensors for heat and cold.Blood flow to the skin increases in hot weather (making it red), while it reduces in cold weather (the skin becomes paler). The body employs perspiration in addition to blood flow to control body temperature because sweating causes water on the skin's surface to evaporate and heat to escape, which lowers body temperature.

We can therefore draw the conclusion that the internal environment, a significant indicator, and the maintenance of body temperature are strongly associated (homeostasis).
